You could say that Alabama actress Sonequa Martin-Green’s career is taking off – off into deep space as the star of the new “Star Trek” series “Star Trek: Discovery.”
But the acting career of the Russellville native and University of Alabama alumna has already been flying high as one of the stars of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.”
Martin-Green will play a lieutenant commander on the Discovery in the new “Star Trek: Discovery” series, while continuing her role as survivor Sasha Williams on “The Walking Dead,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
“Star Trek: Discovery” premieres on CBS in May 2017
